We at Lone Star Kennels have been Training , Hunting and Breeding English Pointers for over Thirty years.

In our program at Lone Star Kennels we primarily use our own Elhew Bred Stud Dogs and Brood Bitches, however we do ocasionally breed to some of the Top Select Elhew Stud Dogs outside our Kennel.

The puppies from our Stud Dogs and Brood Bitches make Outstanding, Classy, Gentlemen's Shooting Dogs.

We feel, as many other Breeders of the Elhew Bloodline feel, that Outcrossing to some of the Select Bloodlines keeps the Genetics Sound and improves the Elhew Bloodline. Therefore we have acquired some Line Bred Guard Rail Brood Bitches to add to our Breeding Program.

The puppies from our Stud Dogs and Brood Bitches have exceptional Dispositions and Conformation with Outstanding Noses and have the Natural Ability/Instinct it takes to find and handle their Birds. Most of our Stud Dogs and Brood Bitches hunt and know how to handle the wild West Texas Quail in their Rugged terrain, and are passing these Traits on to their Offspring.

The Majority of our Puppies will Hunt, Point their Birds and Retreive at a very early age. With the Natural Ability and the Bird Sense that our Breeding Program puts in these Puppies, it makes the Training Program a pleasure. OUR PUPPIES WANT TO PLEASE.
